Laurien Riha was born on September 30 in Stadskanaal. After high school she first attended the School voor de Kunsten in Groningen for a few years. After a successful completion she goes to study at the ArtEZ Toneelschool in Arnhem, where she is currently a fourth year student.

In 2008, Laurien joins the graduation performance Hoog by Natasha Schulte at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Last spring she appeared in Toneelgroep Oostpool in Stormvogels, directed by Casper Vandeputte. She is currently rehearsing Bloedbruiloft, a performance in line with TA-2 (in cooperation with Frascati Producties) directed by Julie van den Berghe.
