Oscar Van Rompay (1983) graduated from Toneel Dora Van der Groen in 2006 and gained immediate employment with NTGent. There, he collaborated on aan Platform, Opening Night, Tien Geboden, Vergeten Straat and Kasimir und Karoline. He also acted in De Tijd (Het licht) and Walpurgis (Trinity Trip).
Their graduation project Publikumbeschimpfung, guided by Peter Van den Eede, brought Dora van der Groen’s class to, among others, the ITs Festival, there Oscar van Rompay received the Kemn award for most promising actor.

He made his debut on the big screen in Win/win (2010), directed by Jaap van Heusden. He portrayed main character Ivan, a young stock broker. The role earned him the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for best actor at the annual New York Film Festival.
In season 2010-2011 he was in in Frans Woyzeck and Clauskamp #1. Season 2011-2012 showed him participating in Ginds, tussen de netels and in God van de slachting. The latter’s last performance was also seen in Season 2012-2013.

Oscar performed his first monologue Africa, written and directed by Peter Verhelst. The subject of Africa was not coincidental, as Oscar owns a small tree plantage where he works a couple of months a year.

There is a reprisal of Africa in 2013-2014. In this same season, Oscar will appear in De Grote Oorlog, in an international collaboration between NTGent and Thaliatheater Hamburg and in a play directed by Luk Perceval.
