Bart Van den Eynde

Bart Van den Eynde is the artistic & pedagogic coordinator of a.s (advanced scenography), a postgraduate research program on scenography on and off the stage, since 2009. He also works as freelance dramaturge. Van den Eynde studied medieval history and theatre science. Before becoming company and production dramaturge of Het Zuidelijk Toneel under the artistic direction of Ivo van Hove in 1995, he was staff member at the Flemish Theatre Institute (VTI). From 2001 to 2007 he was associate artistic director of Laika. For this company he directed Slaapwakker and Slot (The Death of Tintagiles of Maurice Maeterlinck). Since 2005 he started working as a freelance dramaturge, concentrating more and more on dance dramaturgy. After their first association in Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Van den Eynde kept on working on a regular basis with Van Hove. Their last collaborations include Roman Tragedies and Antonioni Project.
