Alexander Elmecky

biography
Alexander Elmecky (1961) has played in over 40 plays and 50 film and television productions (Pleidooi, Wet & Waan, Baantjer, Toen Was Geluk Heel Gewoon, De Co-assistant, Intensive Care). After graduating from the School of the Arts, he was attached to the Theu Boermans Trust between 1987 - 1998. In 1995 he received an Arlecchino as a stage prize.
Between 1998 and 2001, he directed at Het Arsenaal in Mechelen. Between 2003 and 2005, Elmecky was artistic director of Cosmic Theater. As a guest lecturer, he teaches at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, the Dutch Television and Film Academy and the Emerson College Boston.
Between 2006 and 2012 he worked at Het Nationale Toneel as guest actor in, among others, De Prooi. Since 2010, Elmecky can regularly be seen in the AVRO drama series Bloedverwanten. Recently he was seen in Moordvrouw and in VARA’s De Deal.
