Tamar van den Dop

Tamar van den Dop (1970) graduated from the Toneelacademie Maastricht in 1993. She developed her career with roles in various films and television series such as Wolfsbergen, Karakter and Zwarte Sneeuw. She also performed with various theatre companies. As a director, Van den Dop gained esteem for her short films Lot and Schat. These films were the Dutch admissions for the Academy Awards in 2002 and 2004. In 2007, her movie debut Blind his the screens, based on The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen. The Novel Blind, written by Tamar van den Dop and Thomas Verbogt, was published by publishing company Podium. She is currently working on her second movie Supernova.

Van den Dop appeared before in Toneelgroep Amsterdam, among others in . A streetcar named desire (a collaboration between TA-2/Toneelgroep Amsterdam and Toneelschuur Producties) and After the fall, directed by Eric de Vroedt. For her role in Speeldrift, a collaboration between Toneelschuur Producties and Het Nationale Toneel, she was nominated for the Colombina 2013 (best female supporting role).

In 2014, Tamar van den Dop will appear in The Foutainhead, directed by Ivo van Hove.
