Our alliance partner Adelheid|Female Economy presents Hetty & George.
How does a person deal with that which comes in his path? For her, it’s about what clarity is left in her mother who is suffering from dementia. For him, it’s about finding out, at a later age, that he is much more homosexual than he always thought. In Hetty & George the two question each other.
George Groot is a comic performer and a poet, and one of the founders of Dutch cabaret group Don Quishocking. One of the people he played with was Jenny Arean. Theatre maker, actress and writer Adelheid Roossen made international tours with her performances Veiled Monologues and Is•Man, and this spring she created the successful WijkSafari in Slotermeer. She recently made the short documentary Mam about he rmother with Alzheimer’s. It was much acclaimed and won numerous awards. Adelheid Roosen and George Groot earlier collaborated to create the plays Tergend Langzaam Wakker Worden (1990), In de Schaduw van de Zon (1994) and Zina neemt de Wijk (2010)
