biography
Since 1995 choreographer/dancer Emio Greco and choreographer/director Pieter C. Scholten have worked together in their joint search for new dance forms. For both artists the search for a new dramaturgy of the body is an important motivating factor. The dance company they founded in 1996, Emio Greco | PC, has been awarded numerous national and international prizes including the Philip Morris Arts Prize (1999), Herald Angel Award (2001), the Dioraphte Dance price for strong international potential (2011) and various VSCD Dance Awards (2007, 2010, 2011, 2012). The company has a broad international recognition and is intensively touring abroad. The work is regularly co-produced by major festivals and theatres.
The productions of Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten form the artistic core of the International Choreographic Arts Centre (ICKamsterdam). The next four years Nicole Beutler, Jakop Ahlbom, Robyn Orlin and Jan Fabre will be associated artists. This season will see premieres of: the new performance Double Points: Extremalism from the Le Corps du Ballet-series, the theatre version of Addio alla Fine and the new dance opera Double Points: VERDI.
